Connecticut Innovations Moves to New Haven
Connecticut Innovations has moved its headquarters to New Haven to be closer to more of the startups it supports. As of late spring, CI occupies nearly 10,000 square feet of office space at 470 James Street in the Elm City, also known as “District.”
A former bus depot, District was revitalized in 2017. The dog-friendly office space has an open floor plan, natural light and exposed brick walls. CI called on Hartford-based Amenta Emma Architects and Urbane NewHaven to help with the buildout, which includes collaboration rooms, meeting pods and a working café.
Visitors to 470 James Street can enjoy District’s onsite restaurant and beer garden, bocce court and District Athletic Club, which is open to the public and offers yoga, barre classes, CrossFit, personal training and more.
Along with CI’s offices, District boasts the largest coworking space in New Haven, with 119 private offices, as well as Holberton School, a software engineering training program that is working to create a pipeline of tech talent for the state.
CI also has offices in Hartford.
