CI Investments Invests $10.3 Million in 29 Companies in First Quarter Investments leverage $22.8 million in outside capital in Fiscal Q1 2018
Rocky Hill, Conn. – November 30, 2017 – Connecticut Innovations (CI), the leading source of financing and ongoing support for Connecticut’s innovative, growing companies, today announced that it invested $10.3 million in 29 companies and scientific projects during the three months ending September 30, 2017.
The investments leveraged an additional $22.8 million in capital to further support the growth of these companies. Of the $10.3 million, CI invested $8.2 million in bioscience, $1.8 million in information technology and $0.3 million in other investments.
“This was a strong first quarter for CI, investing in nearly 30 companies,” said David Wurzer, executive vice president and chief investment officer at Connecticut Innovations. “We also invested in six new companies over the quarter, which is a signal that Connecticut continues to launch and grow new and innovative companies in our state.”
