Erik Jansen

Technology Investor

Erik Jansen is an accomplished technology investor with more than two decades of successful investment experience. He cofounded the venture capital arm of Pequot Capital, a leading multi-billion-dollar U.S. registered investment adviser focused on public and private technology companies. Pequot quickly scaled to $16 billion in AUM and offered a diverse range of investment products tailored to the needs of domestic and offshore investors, with an institutional quality infrastructure and an extensive proprietary research platform. Following Pequot, he cofounded and was managing partner of RockRidge Capital, which actively managed investments in small-cap public technology companies on behalf of a multi-billion unit of a major European bank. He subsequently cofounded and was chairman of ULTRA Capital LLC, an innovative investment firm focused on sustainable real asset projects in the growth sectors of energy, water, waste and agriculture.

Jansen currently manages SENJA Holdings LLC, his family’s investment vehicle, through which he has made investments in leading software and internet companies as well as healthcare and cleantech companies. He is cofounder and chairman of FUTURYNG Inc., a technology company focused on implementing comprehensive Industrial 4.0 IoT solutions for major industrial corporations. He serves on the board of r4 Technologies Inc., the leading cross-enterprise AI company started by the founders of Priceline, which created $100 billion in market cap. Jansen is a founding member of the advisory board of AKINOVA, the award-winning electronic marketplace for the transfer and trading of insurance risk, including cyber risk. For the past decade, he has served on the Eli Whitney Investment Advisory Committee of Connecticut Innovations. He is a founding advisor of and investor in Alpha Venture Partners, a New York–based growth equity firm, which focuses on accelerating growth in expansion-stage companies and was cofounded by Pritzker Group Venture Capital. Increasingly focused on the need for more sustainability and impact, he became a founding member of the advisory board of Boundless Impact, the premier market intelligence resource helping investors maximize the impact of their invested capital; Boundless is trusted by leading impact investors representing over $20 billion in AUM.

A native of the Netherlands, Jansen held positions with Philips and Procter & Gamble before moving to the United States. Jansen holds a BBA from Nijenrode, the Netherlands School of Business, and an MBA for the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas. Jansen is a frequent speaker at venture, PE and impact conferences in the United States and abroad and resides with his family in Greenwich, Connecticut.
