Managing Director, Portfolio Acceleration Services and Director, Investments


Alison J. Malloy is director of investments at CI on the Venture Team. CI has over 100 portfolio companies and over $300M in assets under management. In her role, she is responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, structuring new investments and monitoring portfolio companies. She is also a regular speaker and member at several entrepreneur organizations, including Golden Seeds, The Refinery and Springboard Enterprises.

She is an experienced entrepreneur, executive and investor. Her perspective is guided by the experience she gained from the tech startup she cofounded and successfully sold, as well as her General Electric Master Black Belt™ Six Sigma™ Certification. She has a strong background in financial management, sales, strategy and raising capital.

Alison was formerly a managing director and partner at Trimodia, LLC, where she managed investments and portfolio companies, including Centrallo, Quigler, Interactio, Wild Things, Baskins, and Blinked, LLC. She also served as an investor and strategic adviser to several technology-focused startups.

Alison was the cofounder of Design2Launch (D2L), a Connecticut-based packaging design collaboration software startup, which was acquired by Eastman Kodak Company in 2008. In 2016, she helped with the spinout and merger of the company with BLUE Software, where she currently sits on the board.

Earlier in her career, Alison worked for General Electric in various capacities, including as the chief financial officer of the NBC Retail Experience Store, where she managed a $20 million budget to design, develop and construct the then startup. She was responsible for integrating the acquisition of the Mexican bank Banco Alianza with GE Capital Mexico. Her contributions had direct impact on GE’s bottom line and were utilized by GE’s top management at the time, CEO Jack Welch and CFO Dennis Dammerman. During her tenure with GE, Alison received the company’s President’s Award, the highest company award honor.

Alison also worked for Arthur Andersen Management Consulting, where she focused on re-engineering business processes by combining consulting, training and GE’s Six Sigma Methodologies™. She started her career at the Slovak American Enterprise Fund, where she researched potential foreign companies for investment consideration.
