Bioscience Investment Associate
Mitra is a Bioscience Investment Associate at CI, responsible for sourcing, diligencing and supporting opportunities across digital health, devices, diagnostics and therapeutics.
Previously, Mitra was a Life Sciences Consultant in the healthcare practice at L.E.K. in NYC, where she worked with a range of companies from startups to large pharma across project types (growth strategy, commercial due diligence for strategic and commercial buyers, BD asset screen and prioritization, and portfolio optimization), sectors (therapeutics and medical devices), and therapeutic areas (oncology, neuroscience, ophthalmology, inflammation and dermatology).
Prior to L.E.K., Mitra was a Company Creation Fellow at Flagship Pioneering. Mitra also worked as a Strategy Analyst in Yale’s Office of the Provost, where she collaborated with university leaders and provided decision support across a broad spectrum of topics. Mitra is also an alumnus of Yale’s Office of Cooperative Research, where she was a Venture Fellow for Canaan Partners, and a Blavatnik Associate. Prior to Yale, Mitra was a Rotary Ambassadorial Fellow in Kampala, Uganda, where she spent a year working with the Infectious Diseases Institute’s Director of Research to establish its translational lab and build capacity to conduct a wide range of assays, from routine diagnostics to highly complex microbiological, immunological and molecular biological assays.
Mitra received her PhD in neuroscience from Yale University, where she was a Ford Foundation Fellow, Pfizer Endowed Fellow and National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. Mitra also holds a BA in biology from the University of Texas.
