As special counsel to the governor, Pescatello was responsible for drafting and lobbying technology company tax and economic development “cluster” legislation for Connecticut. He sits on numerous boards, including Developing World Cures Inc., a startup neglected disease drug discovery company. Pescatello is chair of the New England Biotech Association and co-chair of We Work for Health Connecticut. He also serves on the Connecticut Stem Cell Research Advisory Committee, Connecticut Department of Public Health’s Umbilical Cord Blood Bank Committee, the Statewide Biobank Feasibility Study Committee, and the Healthcare Working Group’s Clinical Trials Supersite Subcommittee.
Pescatello received a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a Ph.D. from Cornell University. He also holds a B.A. in political economy from Colorado College.
Pescatello was first appointed to the Connecticut Innovations Board of Directors in 1989. He was reappointed by former Governor M. Jodi Rell.
